Darius was born in 2047 in Snohomish. His parents worked for ClensTech, an agricorp that worked in the development of detoxing, pollution eating molds and algae. Manifested Magic in High School and got recruited by the company. Graduated College in the spring of 2064, and went to work for ClensTech in its Magic R&D department working on magically active Molds. In the fall of ‘64 the Crash hit. Computer glitches caused fertilizing and watering programs to go haywire destroying all of the company’s research and growing labs. The company struggled along for a couple of years until 2068 when it went under and was gobbled up by a subsidiary of NeoNet. Unfortunately, Darius’ parents had they’re life savings investing in ClensTech and were now in financial ruin.

The family fell off the grid and his parents moved into a bio-dome community in the Plastic Jungle in Redmond. Darius has a low-lifestyle equivalent there that he still returns to on occasion to lay low and do what he can to help the folks.

Darius’ parents, being scientists, weren’t very religious. They viewed religion as a crutch for the weak minded. Darius shares this feeling. His manifestation caused a bit of a philosophical crisis in High School, but he’s come to terms with it. He views the Magical World as just another dimension that has been opened up to him. He views spirits as primal energies that are sentient that he can bring to our world and force to do his bidding.

His political views are very middle of the road. He’s pretty much against anything extreme on both ends of the spectrum. He currently favors Josephine Dzhugashvilli for Governor because of her metahuman rights stance, but isn’t too sure about seceding from the UCAS.

Morally, Darius is basically a nice guy. He’s definitely not a do-gooder, but he won’t go out of his way to be cruel either. He’s usually looking for some advantage he can gain for his good deeds. He’ll heal the little street urchins’ scrapes, because he knows they’ll keep an eye out for him. He helps at his parents’ commune/farm/bio-dome community, because he then has a safe place to hide out. But he’s also not above doing a run on the cheap if he thinks it’s a good cause.

He’s been keeping an eye on the kids in his folks’ community for any that manifest as magically active. He plans to possibly start his own group eventually. And figures it would be a good place to start. In the mean time, he’s decided that running the shadows is a better way of making a living than growing mold in Redmond, and he doesn’t see himself sweating for someone else’s Nuyen in some Corp lab. This way he gets to pick his own jobs depending on how hungry he is. He tries to stay inland if possible since salt water makes his skin burn and itch.

Since hitting the shadows he’s become a bit fanatical about equal rights. He hates metahuman prejudice from all angles. He can’t stand the Humanis or the more radical Crismson Crush or Ragers gang members. He leans towards rights for Awakened Sentient critters but is pragmatic about it. He doesn’t feel comfortable with anything higher than him on the food chain. If it eats us, it’s a potential opponent.

He loves the club scene in Seattle and hangs out at the Alabaster Maiden often. He also likes the Cocoon in Snohomish and also goes to the Coliseum in Snohomish to catch the fights between Awakened critters to gather research.

One of his contacts is a Talismonger that lives in his folks’ community in Redmond. The other is a bartender at his favorite bar, the Alabaster Maiden downtown.
